Describe your video store - what did it look like? What were its distinguishing features? The video store was also a gas station. So it looked like a normal gas station it just had the big white gerneric word video on the front of it.
What were the employees and/or owners like, and what kinds of interactions did you have with them? What particularly memorable exchanges or events do you remember? The employees were very helpful, when we would stop in to get gas they would tell us about any new arrivals that they had.
What other services/products did the store offer besides the rental or sale of videos? Did this change over time? they sold gas, snacks, drinks and other normal gas station products
What video formats did the store offer (i.e. VHS, Beta, Laserdisc)? Where were different formats kept in the store? just vhs
In addition to mainstream Hollywood movies, what other kinds of videotapes (for example children's, exercise, or X-rated) did the store rent/sell? Where were these videos found in the store, and how often did you rent or purchase them? they had the full range of movies including x-rated. the x rated movies was keep under the counter
Did you tend to rent or buy videos? Why? mainly rent and I would buy one every now and then
During the period that you shopped at this store, what changes did you see? none, just new movies
Is this store still open? If not, when did it close? the video part was bought out and moved into a building down the road, it now have dvds, vhs, and a repair shop
